Around forty farms occupy almost two thirds of the space of the commune. These farms are particularly orientated towards pig farming, dairy or beef cattle and the growing of cereals. Today, Plouzané welcomes on its territory the Technopôle Brest-Iroise. In continual development since 1991 in the southern part of the commune, situated at la Pointe du Diable. It federates a network of 200 establishments from the worlds business, research, further education and local communities. Set on 107 hectares, 6 300 people work here, of which 2 100 are students and 900 tutors-researchers. One of the latest structures established here is the Information and Communication village, which includes the reception station of the Vigisat satellite.
